Challenge

A retired teacher found that her monthly Social Security pension had been reduced by approximately 30% following a brief return to part-time employment. The reduction had been in place for eight months without a written explanation that she could follow.

What We Did

We reviewed her contribution records and the authority's decision letter, identified that the reduction formula had been applied incorrectly to her situation, and prepared and submitted a formal appeal with supporting documentation.

Outcome

The appeal was upheld after approximately eleven weeks. Her pension was restored to the correct level, and she received a lump sum representing the difference owed over the preceding months. Service used: Benefit Appeal (฿5,700).

Challenge

A man in his late fifties, approaching early retirement, was uncertain whether his combined employment record across three different employers over 28 years was sufficient for the pension level he was expecting. He wanted to understand his position before making any retirement decision.

What We Did

We conducted an eligibility review covering all three employment periods, confirming contribution totals, identifying a five-month gap that had not been accounted for in his records, and providing a written summary of his current entitlement at various retirement ages.

Outcome

He had the information he needed to make a properly informed decision. He chose to continue working for an additional 18 months to reach the higher benefit level, which the review indicated was achievable. Service used: Eligibility Review (฿2,100).

Challenge

An elderly woman had received a notice requiring her to attend a meeting at a Government Pension Fund office regarding a claimed overpayment. She found the notice alarming and did not feel able to attend alone.

What We Did

We prepared her fully for the meeting, reviewed the overpayment claim and the supporting records in advance, attended with her, and addressed the authority's points calmly and factually. We provided a written summary of what had been said and agreed, the same day.

Outcome
